What a fun time we had together thus far this month indulging our inner Chocoholics! We spoiled our sweet tooth with such delicious dishes as Mexican Mole Chili, Spinach Salad with Chocolate Balsamic Vinaigrette, Chocolate Cheddar Cheese, Chocolate-Bacon Shards, Chocolate Glaceed Orange Slices, Chocolate Ganache-Hazelnut Frosting Shots, and Chocolate-Strawberry-Angel Food Skewers.
We learned that the bitterness and spiciness of the Mexican Mole Chili will not become our favorite "go-to" chili recipe (see Recipe Box tab for recipe), and that Trader Joe's new Chocolate Cheddar Cheese is a delicious combination of flavors that will go perfect with a glass of full-body red wine this Valentine's Day...give it a try!
And speaking of Valentine's Day, cooking class regular Fran Jesel would like to share her recipe for Chocolate Martinis with all her fellow Chocoholics to enjoy this holiday:
Fran's Chocolate Martini: Begin by styling your martini glass by dipping the glass in simple syrup or agave nectar, followed by a dip in some cocoa powder, or create an attractive design in the inside of the glass using chocolate syrup and place it in the freezer for 5 minutes to set. Meanwhile, in a martini mixer with ice, combine 1oz espresso, 1/2 oz Kalhua or coffee liquor, 1/2 oz dark chocolate Godiva liquor, 1 oz chocolate (or vanilla) vodka, and an optional splash of heavy cream. Shake, pour and enjoy! Thank you Fran!
